SAFE WALKING ZONES IDENTIFIED FOR AVALANCHE DANGER
The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the Directorate General for Combating Desertification and Erosion identified safe walking routes against avalanches for security forces fighting terrorism during the winter months.
As it is known, especially in the harsh winter conditions, especially in all kinds of conditions, our security forces performing homeland defense, avalanche danger in the winter months can encounter. Unfortunately, our heroic soldiers can also fall martyr as a result of the avalanche in these operations carried out in winter.
In this manner, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry had identified "Potential Avalanche Starting Zones and Safe Walking Routes" in 10 provinces as a priority for use in counter terrorism activities during the winter months in line with the demands of the Gendarmerie General Command.
Finally, the Gendarmerie General Command requested to work in 24 provinces in addition to the 10 previously worked. Within this framework, safe routes were determined for 24 more provinces.
The designated routes were sent to the Gendarmerie General Command, the General Directorate of Mapping and Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency.
