The "Turkey – EU Fisheries Dialogue Group" meeting was held on September 28 2021, under the chair of Dr. Mustafa Altuğ ATALAY, the Director-General, with the participation of the European Union Commission General Directorate of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (DG-MARE), the EU Delegation to Turkey, the General Directorate of European Union and Foreign Relations, as well as the representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Directorate for EU Affairs and the Coast Guard Command.
At the meeting, information was exchanged on fisheries policy developments in Turkey and the EU, and the general information was given about the recommendations for the Mediterranean and Black Sea to be presented by the European Union at the annual session of the General Fisheries Commission for Mediterranean (GFCM) to be held in November. In addition, the actions taken to ensure sustainable fisheries in the Mediterranean and the Black Sea and the steps to be taken in the future were discussed.
The meeting was concluded with the parties expressing their wishes for the continuation of mutual cooperation by strengthening.
