Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Prof. Dr. Vahit Kirişci has gone to Indonesia to attend the Agriculture Ministers' Meeting to be held on September 27-29 as part of the G20 Summit.
Indonesia's 2022 presidency will provide the G20 with the opportunity to focus on Global Health Architecture, Digital Transformation and Sustainable Energy Transition. Session titles of the meeting were shaped within the scope of these priorities.
The theme of the meeting this year is "Recover Together, Recover Stronger".
The Global Forum, where Minister Kirişci will also deliver a speech at the "Dialogue of Senior Ministers", will be held on September 27 with the theme of "Increasing the Role of Women and Youth in Agriculture with Digital Innovations".
A total of 3 sessions will be held within the scope of the 2022 G20 Agriculture Ministers' Meeting, attended by 34 representatives from G20 members, invited countries and international organizations.
Minister Kirişci will give speeches in the 1st session themed "Building flexible and sustainable agriculture and food systems" and the 3rd session themed "Innovative agricultural initiative through digital agriculture to improve the livelihoods of farmers in rural areas".
Minister Kirişci, who will hold bilateral meetings with his Indonesian, Canadian, Cambodian and Saudi Arabian counterparts, will also meet with EU Agriculture and Rural Development Commissioner Mr. Janusz Wojciechowski and FAO Director-General Qu Dongyu.
